About Us – History of Sugar Foot Farms

Sugar Foot Farms PA is owned and operated by Ryan & Maggie Post.

In one form or another, since the 1900’s our family has lived and farmed this 6 acre plot of land in beautiful Northampton County, Pennsylvania.

In one way or another, the farm has and always will be about family.

Ryan & Maggie acquired the farm from Craig & Debbie Laubach in 2016. Craig, son of Althea and Karl Laubach acquired the farm from his parents in 2001. Althea (Peters) and Karl acquired the farm some time post-WW2 and farmed the land for many years selling pumpkins and Christmas Trees. Althea is the sister of Ryan’s late grandmother Carol Peters-Post.

Ryan as a young boy would often visit the farm for halloween pumpkins and annually for the families Christmas Tree.

The bank barns on the property date back to 1900 and the homestead was built a few years later in 1910.

In a funny twist when deciding on a name for the farm in tribute to our family, the name Sugar Foot came from a phrase Ryan’s late grandfather Mathew Post, husband of Carol and brother in law to Althea and Karl and uncle to Craig would say when he got flustered. Stubbing your toe, spilling some coffee or not having your lottery numbers called that night qualified for a hearty and sharp “oh sugar foot”.
